Tribulus terrestris (Tribulus terrestris)
Description, maintenance and use of the tribule:

Tribule, also called Tribulus terrestris or Maltese Cross, has many medicinal properties to help slow down hair loss due to testosterone.

Since the 1980s, tribule fruit has been attributed, rightly or wrongly, a favorable effect on sports performance and libido, so much so that tribule extract is now consumed by athletes who want to to improve their results only by lovers in search of prowess.

The word tribulus in Latin designates a trap, a trap with several points.
It evokes the appearance of fruits with points that are not very pleasant for the feet.
The term terrestris applies to plants growing on the ground, in particular to creeping plants.

Cultivation of the terrestrial tribulus:

Type of soil and substrate:
Tribulus terrestris needs soil that is relatively poor and very draining if possible.
Make a mixture of 70% sand and 30% horticultural soil.
Drain the bottom of the pot well.

Watering and humidity:
Tribulus terrestris does not need much watering.
Once a week in summer is enough.
In winter, water once a week if it seems useful.

Exposure and light:
Tribulus terrestris requires a lot of light, it will need to be placed in full sun.
Regarding artificial lights, prefer HPS or MH lamps.

Temperature :
The terrestrial tribule grows very well when the temperature varies from 15 to 45°C.
Remember to bring your plants in at the end of autumn, the Tribule does not hold up well to negative temperatures.
